Young Latter-day Saints from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee came together between April 20 and 27, 2024, to participate in Global Youth Service Day. This annual event encourages youth to engage in community service and make a positive impact.
Youth committees planned activities in their communities to clean parks, horse farms, rivers, cemeteries and beaches. Others fed the hungry, clothed the naked and comforted the elderly. Thousands of hours of volunteer work from 133 stakes across the region show the impact young people can have when they love their neighbor.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released the artistic rendering for a temple in Canada, and the location of two temples in the U.S.: the Des Moines Iowa and the Cincinnati Ohio Temples. Both houses of the Lord were announced by President Russell M. Nelson during the concluding session of general conference in April 2024.
“Understanding the spiritual privileges made possible in the temple is vital to each of us today,” President Nelson said.
Latter-day Saints consider temples to be houses of the Lord and the most sacred places of worship on the earth. The primary purpose of temples is for faithful members of the Church to receive peace, inspiration, and spiritual power as they enter into sacred agreements with God in His house.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has opened the doors to the new Salta Argentina Temple for the media and public to tour. It will soon be the Church’s third operating temple in Argentina and the 194th dedicated house of the Lord worldwide.
For Latter-day Saints in both Salta and the province of the same name, the new temple will be a welcome addition to north Argentina, where the closest location for them to participate in temple ordinances and make sacred covenants requires a drive of some 10 hours.
Elder @ChristoffDTodd of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will dedicate the Salta Argentina Temple on Sunday, June 16, in two sessions, at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. local time. The sessions will be broadcast to all units in the temple district.
